As Ether Solutions is an Oracle Gold Partner, we are able to sell licences for any of the Oracle Technology products.
Oracle licences can be obtained on either a CPU basis or a Named User basis.
For CPU licences the calculation is based on the number of CPU cores and a performance factor for each core to determine the licence requirement.
For Named users, the calculation is based on the actual users plus there must be a minimum number of users licenced for each CPU (e.g. 10 users).
Oracle requires all new licence sales to be taken with its annual support and maintenance service, the cost of which is calculated as a percentage of the licence fee. Although the purchase of this service in future years is optionally most users decide to continue with the service as it provides access to Oracle's support desk and provides access to future new versions of trhe software.
Ether Solutions can work with Oracle Finance, so that the capital cost of licences can be packaged into a plan that spreads the cost over several years. This is particularly attractive when companies wish the benefits from using the products to be used to fund the payments.
